Field tests of the "AGP-F" installation were successfully completed to determine the elemental composition of phosphoric ores at the production site of Kovdorsky GOK JSC.
For measurements, 25 samples of apatite-shtaffelite ore and 50 samples of magnetite and apatite ores with a size of -3 mm were given. Sample weights ranged from 3.5 to 10 kg.
During measurements, the sample was placed in the receiving tray of the installation without any sample preparation.
For each sample, concentrations of 8 elements were determined: Si, Mg, Fe, Al, Ca, C, O, P, which were then converted to the corresponding oxides.
Tests have shown the possibility of correctly determining the mass concentration of P2O5, Fe2O3, CO2, MgO, CaO, Al2O3 in the field conditions without any sample preparation.
The random component of the error in measuring the concentrations of oxides for different classes of contents was estimated.
It is shown that measurements at the installation take place with stable operation of the equipment, subject to repeatability conditions.
The installation worked in a wide range of sample masses from 3.5 to 10 kg, without imposing any restrictions on the sample spatial size.
The radiation situation was evaluated during the operation of the facility. Significant activation of samples during measurement does not occur. The operator can be in the workplace for 3-4 thousand hours without exceeding the maximum permissible annual rate.
The power consumption of the installation was 300 W (excluding the consumption of the operator’s workstation).
It is planned in 2019 to perform 6-months trial operation of the "AGP-F" installation at the Kovdorsky GOK.
